Vijayanagara
Vijayanagara was a prominent South Indian empire that flourished from the 14th to the 17th century. Founded by the brothers Harihara and Bukka, it became a major cultural and economic center, known for its impressive architecture, vibrant trade, and rich traditions. The capital city, also named Vijayanagara, featured grand temples and palaces, showcasing the empire's artistic achievements.
The empire played a crucial role in resisting Islamic invasions and promoting Hindu culture. It reached its zenith under rulers like Krishnadevaraya, who expanded its territory and patronized literature and the arts. The decline of Vijayanagara began in the late 16th century, culminating in its fall after the Battle of Talikota in 1565.
