Videonystagmography (VNG)
Videonystagmography (VNG) is a diagnostic test used to assess the function of the inner ear and the central nervous system. It measures eye movements in response to specific stimuli, helping to identify balance disorders and other vestibular issues. During the test, small cameras track eye movements while the patient follows visual targets or experiences changes in head position.
The procedure is non-invasive and typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Results from VNG can assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing conditions such as vertigo, Meniere's disease, and other balance-related disorders, guiding appropriate treatment options.
