Victoria of Hesse
Victoria of Hesse was a German princess born on April 5, 1863, in Darmstadt. She was the daughter of Grand Duke Louis IV of Hesse and Princess Alice of the United Kingdom, making her a member of both the Hesse and British royal families. Victoria was known for her strong character and dedication to social causes, particularly in education and healthcare.
In 1884, she married Prince Louis of Battenberg, and they had four children. Victoria played a significant role in the family, often supporting her husband in his naval career. She passed away on September 24, 1950, leaving a legacy of compassion and service.
