Victor of Aveyron
Victor of Aveyron was a feral child found in the early 1800s in the forests of Aveyron, France. Discovered around the age of 12, he exhibited behaviors typical of wild animals, having lived in isolation without human contact. His case became a significant study in the fields of psychology and education.
After his capture, Victor was taken to a school for the deaf, where he was studied by Jean-Marc Gaspard Itard, a physician who aimed to educate him. Itard's efforts highlighted the importance of social interaction and language development in human growth and learning.
