Vertebroplasty
Vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat painful vertebral compression fractures, often caused by conditions like osteoporosis. During the procedure, a doctor injects a special bone cement into the fractured vertebra to stabilize it and relieve pain.
The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and guided by imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy or CT scans. Most patients experience significant pain relief shortly after the procedure, allowing them to return to normal activities more quickly than with traditional surgical options.
