Velitrae
Velitrae was an ancient town located in the region of Latium, Italy, near the modern town of Velletri. It was known for its strategic position on the Via Appia, a crucial Roman road that connected Rome to the southern regions of Italy. The town was inhabited by the Volsci, an ancient Italic tribe, and later became a Roman municipium.
The town is notable for its archaeological remains, including a well-preserved theater and various temples. Velitrae played a role in the early conflicts between the Romans and the Volsci, eventually becoming integrated into the Roman Republic. Its history reflects the broader cultural and political changes in ancient Italy.
