Vedic Education refers to the traditional system of learning in ancient India, rooted in the Vedas, which are the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism. This educational approach emphasized holistic development, combining spiritual, intellectual, and practical knowledge. Students, known as shishyas, would learn under the guidance of a guru in a residential setting, focusing on subjects like philosophy, mathematics, and the arts.
The curriculum of Vedic Education included oral transmission of knowledge, rituals, and ethical teachings. It aimed to cultivate not only academic skills but also moral values and social responsibilities, preparing individuals to contribute positively to society and uphold Dharma, or righteous living.
