Ur-Nammu
Ur-Nammu was a prominent king of the ancient Sumerian city-state of Ur, reigning around 2112 to 2095 BCE. He is best known for founding the Third Dynasty of Ur, which marked a period of significant cultural and economic development in Mesopotamia.
One of his most notable achievements was the creation of the Code of Ur-Nammu, one of the earliest known legal codes. This code established laws and penalties, promoting justice and order in society. Ur-Nammu is also credited with extensive building projects, including the famous Ziggurat of Ur, which served as a religious and administrative center.
