United Kingdom of Hanover
The United Kingdom of Hanover was a state in personal union with the Kingdom of Great Britain and later the United Kingdom from 1714 to 1901. It was established when Elector George I of Hanover ascended to the British throne, creating a connection between the two regions. The kingdom was located in what is now northern Germany.
In 1866, Hanover was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia, ending its status as an independent kingdom. The personal union lasted until the death of Queen Victoria in 1901, after which the British crown and the Hanoverian throne were separated permanently.
