Ugali
Ugali is a staple food in many East African countries, particularly in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is made from maize flour (cornmeal) mixed with water and cooked to form a dense, dough-like consistency. Ugali is typically served as an accompaniment to various dishes, such as stews, vegetables, or grilled meats.
The preparation of ugali is simple and involves boiling water before gradually adding the maize flour while stirring continuously. Once it thickens, it is shaped into a round loaf and allowed to cool slightly. Ugali is often eaten by hand, with pieces being pinched off and used to scoop up other foods.
