USS Wahoo
The USS Wahoo was a United States Navy submarine that served during World War II. Launched in 1940, it was part of the Gato-class submarines and was known for its successful patrols in the Pacific Theater. The submarine was credited with sinking numerous enemy ships, contributing significantly to the U.S. Navy's efforts against Japan.
Under the command of Commander Dudley W. Morton, the USS Wahoo became famous for its aggressive tactics and stealthy approach. Unfortunately, the submarine was lost in 1943 during a mission near La Perouse Strait, and its crew of 80 men was never recovered.
