USS Barb
The USS Barb (SS-220) was a United States Navy submarine that served during World War II. Commissioned in 1944, it was known for its successful missions in the Pacific Theater, where it sank numerous enemy ships and disrupted supply lines. The submarine was equipped with advanced technology for its time, including radar and torpedoes.
Under the command of Captain Eugene B. Fluckey, the USS Barb became famous for its daring raids, including a notable land attack on the Japanese-held island of Shikoku. After the war, the submarine was decommissioned in 1945 and is now preserved as a museum ship in Muskegon, Michigan.
