Twenty-Second Dynasty
The Twenty-Second Dynasty of ancient Egypt lasted from approximately 945 to 720 BCE. It is often referred to as the Libyan Dynasty because its rulers were of Libyan origin. This period is characterized by a return to traditional Egyptian culture and art, as well as the construction of impressive temples and monuments.
During this dynasty, Egypt experienced political fragmentation and regional power struggles. The kings, such as Sheshonq I, often focused on consolidating power and expanding their influence, leading to military campaigns in neighboring regions. The dynasty ultimately ended with the rise of the Twenty-Third Dynasty, marking a shift in Egypt's political landscape.
