Treaty of Salbai
The Treaty of Salbai was signed in 1782 between the British East India Company and the Maratha Empire. It aimed to resolve conflicts that arose during the Second Anglo-Maratha War. The treaty established peace and defined territorial boundaries, allowing both parties to maintain their interests in India.
Under the terms of the treaty, the British recognized the Maratha's authority over certain regions, while the Marathas acknowledged British control over others. This agreement helped stabilize relations between the two powers and set the stage for future interactions in the Indian subcontinent, influencing the course of British colonial expansion.
