The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a natural gas pipeline that runs from Greece to Italy, crossing the Adriatic Sea. It is part of the larger Southern Gas Corridor, which aims to transport natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to Europe, reducing reliance on Russian gas supplies.
TAP is approximately 878 kilometers long and has a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It connects with the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in Greece, allowing gas from Azerbaijan to reach European markets, enhancing energy security in the region.
