Traditional Iranian Houses
Traditional Iranian houses, known as خانههای سنتی ایرانی, are designed to adapt to the country's diverse climate. They often feature thick walls made of mud and brick, which help keep the interiors cool in the hot summers and warm in the cold winters. These homes typically include a central courtyard, or حیاط, that serves as a private outdoor space for families.
The architecture of these houses often incorporates intricate tile work and گچبری, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Iran. Many traditional homes also have بادگیر, or wind catchers, which are designed to facilitate natural ventilation, enhancing comfort without the need for modern air conditioning.
