Titoism
Titoism is a political and ideological framework associated with Josip Broz Tito, the leader of Yugoslavia from 1943 until his death in 1980. It emphasizes a form of socialism that is independent from the influence of the Soviet Union. Titoism promotes national self-determination and a decentralized approach to governance, allowing for greater autonomy among the various ethnic groups within Yugoslavia.
Under Titoism, Yugoslavia pursued a unique path of non-alignment during the Cold War, avoiding strict allegiance to either the United States or the Soviet bloc. This approach fostered a sense of unity among diverse nationalities while maintaining a socialist economic system that included elements of market-oriented reforms.
