Non-Aligned Movement
The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a group of countries that chose not to align with either the Western bloc led by the United States or the Eastern bloc led by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Established in 1961, the movement aimed to promote peace, security, and cooperation among nations while respecting their sovereignty and independence.
NAM consists of over 120 member states, primarily from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The movement advocates for issues like disarmament, economic development, and social justice, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
