Time of Troubles
The "Time of Troubles" was a chaotic period in Russian history that lasted from 1598 to 1613. It began after the death of Tsar Feodor I, the last ruler of the Rurik dynasty, leading to a power vacuum and civil unrest. Various factions, including nobles and foreign powers, vied for control, resulting in widespread famine and social upheaval.
During this time, several impostors claimed the throne, most notably False Dmitry I, who briefly ruled. The situation worsened with the invasion of Polish-Lithuanian forces. The turmoil ended with the establishment of the Romanov dynasty in 1613, restoring stability to Russia.
