Tibetan exiles
Tibetan exiles are individuals who fled Tibet, primarily after the Chinese government took control of the region in the 1950s. Many of these exiles sought refuge in countries like India, Nepal, and Bhutan, where they established communities and preserved their unique culture, language, and traditions.
The Tibetan government-in-exile, based in Dharamshala, India, was formed to represent the interests of Tibetans living outside their homeland. Led by the Dalai Lama, the exiled community advocates for the rights and autonomy of Tibetans while promoting non-violent resistance and dialogue with the Chinese government.
