Three-Toed Sloths
The three-toed sloth is a slow-moving mammal found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive three long claws on each limb, which help it hang from tree branches. These sloths spend most of their lives in trees, where they feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers.
Three-toed sloths have a unique adaptation that allows them to conserve energy. They have a low metabolic rate and can sleep up to 20 hours a day. Their slow movement and greenish fur, which hosts algae, help them blend into their surroundings, providing camouflage from predators.
