The R&A
The R&A, or the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, is one of the oldest and most prestigious governing bodies in the sport of golf. Founded in 1754, it is responsible for overseeing the rules of golf and promoting the game worldwide. The R&A also organizes major tournaments, including the Open Championship, one of golf's four major championships.
In addition to its role in governance, The R&A works to grow the game through various initiatives, including supporting grassroots programs and promoting inclusivity. It collaborates with other organizations, such as the USGA (United States Golf Association), to ensure the sport's integrity and development globally.
