The Black Prince
The Black Prince, known as Edward of Woodstock, was the eldest son of King Edward III of England. Born in 1330, he became a prominent military leader during the Hundred Years' War against France. He earned his nickname due to his black armor and his reputation for bravery in battle.
The Black Prince is best known for his victories at the battles of Crécy in 1346 and Poitiers in 1356. His military successes helped establish English dominance in parts of France during the war. He died in 1376, before his father, leaving a legacy as one of England's most celebrated knights.
