Thai monarchy
The Thai monarchy is the constitutional monarchy of Thailand, where the king serves as the head of state. The monarchy has a long history, deeply rooted in the culture and traditions of the Thai people. The king's role is largely ceremonial, but he is also seen as a symbol of national unity and stability.
The current king, Maha Vajiralongkorn, ascended to the throne in 2016 after the death of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who reigned for 70 years. The monarchy is respected and plays a significant role in Thai society, with laws in place to protect the royal family from defamation.
