Terme di Diocleziano
The Terme di Diocleziano, or the Baths of Diocletian, were ancient Roman public baths built between 298 and 306 AD during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. These baths were part of a larger complex that included a gymnasium, gardens, and a library, showcasing the grandeur of Roman architecture and engineering.
Covering approximately 13 hectares, the baths could accommodate thousands of visitors daily. They featured various facilities, including hot and cold baths, steam rooms, and exercise areas. Today, parts of the complex house the Museo Nazionale Romano, preserving the rich history of ancient Roman culture and daily life.
