Tenth Grade
Tenth grade, often referred to as sophomore year, is the second year of high school in the United States. Students typically range in age from 15 to 16 years old. During this year, they continue to build on subjects like math, science, English, and social studies, often taking more advanced courses than in previous grades.
In addition to core subjects, tenth graders may have the opportunity to explore electives such as art, music, or foreign languages. This year is also important for preparing for future academic choices, including college readiness and standardized tests like the SAT or ACT.
