Temple of Dendera
The Temple of Dendera is an ancient Egyptian temple located near the town of Dendera, dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Built during the Ptolemaic period, it features stunning reliefs and inscriptions that showcase the rich mythology and religious practices of ancient Egypt.
Constructed primarily between 54 and 20 BCE, the temple complex includes a large main temple, a sacred lake, and several smaller structures. The Dendera Zodiac, a famous astronomical relief, was discovered here, highlighting the temple's significance in both religion and science during its time.
