Taoist Sects
Taoist sects are diverse groups within the broader philosophy and religion of Taoism, which originated in ancient China. These sects often emphasize different practices, beliefs, and interpretations of the Tao Te Ching, the foundational text of Taoism. Some well-known sects include the Quanzhen School, which focuses on meditation and self-cultivation, and the Lingbao School, which incorporates rituals and alchemy.
Each sect may have its own unique rituals, teachings, and community structures, reflecting the adaptability of Taoism to various cultural contexts. Despite their differences, all Taoist sects share a common goal of aligning with the Tao, or the fundamental principle that underlies the universe.
