Taoiseach
The term "Taoiseach" refers to the head of government in Ireland. It is an Irish word that translates to "chief" or "leader." The Taoiseach is responsible for leading the Cabinet, making policy decisions, and representing the country both domestically and internationally. This position is similar to that of a prime minister in other countries.
The Taoiseach is appointed by the President of Ireland and is usually the leader of the political party that has the most seats in the Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the Irish Parliament). The Taoiseach serves a crucial role in shaping government policy and legislation.
