Tajik Language
The Tajik language is a variety of the Persian language spoken primarily in Tajikistan. It is part of the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family and shares many similarities with Farsi and Dari, the Persian dialects spoken in Iran and Afghanistan, respectively. Tajik is written in the Cyrillic script, which was adopted during the Soviet era.
Tajik serves as the official language of Tajikistan and is used in government, education, and media. It is spoken by approximately 9 million people, with significant communities in neighboring countries like Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The language reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Tajik people, including their literature and traditions.
