Taiwanese Indigenous
Taiwanese Indigenous peoples are the original inhabitants of Taiwan, with a rich cultural heritage that predates Han Chinese migration. They belong to various tribes, each with its own distinct language, traditions, and customs. There are currently 16 officially recognized tribes, including the Amis, Atayal, and Paiwan.
These communities have historically relied on agriculture, hunting, and fishing for sustenance. In recent years, there has been a growing movement to preserve their languages and cultural practices, as well as to advocate for their rights and recognition within the broader Taiwanese society.
