Swedish Christmas
Swedish Christmas, known as Jul, is celebrated on December 24th, with families gathering for a festive meal. Traditional dishes include Julskinka (Christmas ham), Köttbullar (meatballs), and Lutfisk (dried fish). Many families also enjoy a special dessert called Julkaka, a spiced cake.
Decorations play a significant role in Swedish Christmas. Homes are adorned with Julstjärnor (Christmas stars) and Ljus (candles) to create a warm atmosphere. The celebration often includes the arrival of Tomten, a gnome-like figure who brings gifts, and the singing of traditional carols, enhancing the festive spirit.
