Svan language
The Svan language is a member of the Kartvelian language family, primarily spoken in the mountainous region of Svaneti in Georgia. It is considered a minority language, with around 30,000 speakers. Svan is distinct from the more widely spoken Georgian language, although they share some similarities.
Svan has its own unique dialects and is known for its complex grammar and rich vocabulary. The language is primarily oral, but there are efforts to document and preserve it through written forms. Svan culture, including its folklore and traditions, is closely tied to the language, making it an important aspect of the local identity.
