Sultan Raziya
Sultan Raziya, also known as Razia Sultana, was the first and only female ruler of the Delhi Sultanate in India. She reigned from 1236 to 1240 and was the daughter of Iltutmish, a prominent Sultan. Raziya was known for her intelligence, administrative skills, and efforts to promote merit over gender in governance.
During her reign, Raziya faced significant challenges, including opposition from nobles and her own half-brothers. Despite her efforts to establish a strong rule, she was eventually overthrown and met a tragic end. Raziya remains a significant figure in history, symbolizing women's leadership in a male-dominated society.
