Iltutmish
Iltutmish was a prominent ruler of the Delhi Sultanate in the 13th century, known for consolidating and expanding the empire. He ascended the throne in 1211 and was the first to be formally recognized as a Sultan of Delhi. His reign marked the establishment of a more structured administration and the introduction of a currency system.
Iltutmish is also noted for his military campaigns, which helped secure the territory against invasions. He was a patron of culture and education, contributing to the development of Islamic architecture in India. His legacy continued through his daughter, Razia Sultana, who became the first female ruler of the Sultanate.
