Star of Africa II
The "Star of Africa II" is a large diamond weighing 318.75 carats. It is the second-largest cut diamond in the world and is part of the British Crown Jewels. Discovered in 1905 in the Cullinan Diamond Mine in South Africa, it was originally a rough stone weighing 3,106 carats.
The diamond was cut by Joseph Asscher and was presented to King Edward VII of the United Kingdom. Today, the "Star of Africa II" is set in the Sceptre with Cross, which is one of the key pieces in the British royal regalia, symbolizing the monarchy's power and history.
