Spotted Redshank
The Spotted Redshank is a medium-sized wading bird belonging to the Scolopacidae family. It is characterized by its long legs, slender body, and distinctive black and white plumage during breeding season. In non-breeding plumage, it appears more grayish-brown with white spots on its back, making it easier to identify in various habitats.
This bird is commonly found in wetlands, mudflats, and shallow coastal areas across Europe and Asia. It migrates to warmer regions during winter, often traveling to parts of Africa and South Asia. The Spotted Redshank primarily feeds on invertebrates, using its long bill to probe in the mud for food.
