South African Constitutional Court
The South African Constitutional Court is the highest court in South Africa, established in 1994. It is responsible for upholding the Constitution and ensuring that laws and actions by the government comply with constitutional principles. The court plays a crucial role in protecting human rights and promoting democracy in the country.
Located in Johannesburg, the court consists of eleven judges, including a Chief Justice. It hears cases that involve constitutional matters, and its decisions are final. The court also has the power to review legislation and can declare laws unconstitutional if they violate the Bill of Rights.
