Sour Grass
Sour grass, commonly known as sorrel, is a leafy green plant belonging to the Polygonaceae family. It is characterized by its tangy, lemony flavor, which comes from the presence of oxalic acid. Sour grass is often found in gardens and meadows, thriving in well-drained soil and sunny locations.
This plant is not only edible but also nutritious, providing vitamins A and C, as well as minerals like potassium. Sour grass can be used in salads, soups, and sauces, adding a refreshing zest to various dishes. However, due to its high oxalic acid content, it should be consumed in moderation.
