Sotho People
The Sotho people are a group of Bantu-speaking ethnic groups primarily found in Lesotho, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and crafts. The Sotho language, also called Sesotho, is one of the official languages in Lesotho and is widely spoken in South Africa.
Historically, the Sotho people were organized into chiefdoms, with notable leaders like Moshoeshoe I, who founded the Basotho nation in the early 19th century. Their society is characterized by strong family ties and communal living, with agriculture and livestock farming being central to their economy.
