Sophie of Bavaria
Sophie of Bavaria was born on July 27, 1805, in Munich, Bavaria. She was a member of the royal family and the daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria. In 1824, she married King Otto of Greece, becoming the Queen consort of Greece.
Sophie played a significant role in the cultural and political life of Greece during her reign. She was known for her charitable work and efforts to promote education and the arts. Sophie remained in Greece until the monarchy was abolished in 1862, after which she returned to her homeland in Bavaria.
