Sophie Scholl
Sophie Scholl was a German student and anti-Nazi political activist born on May 9, 1921. She was a key member of the White Rose, a non-violent resistance group that opposed the Nazi regime during World War II. Scholl and her brother, Hans, distributed leaflets that encouraged people to resist the oppressive government and promote freedom and justice.
On February 18, 1943, Sophie and Hans were arrested for distributing leaflets at the University of Munich. They were tried and executed by guillotine just a few days later, on February 22, 1943. Today, Sophie Scholl is remembered as a symbol of courage and moral integrity in the face of tyranny.
