German Resistance
The German Resistance refers to various groups and individuals in Germany who opposed the Nazi regime during World War II. This resistance included a range of activities, from passive opposition to active plots against Adolf Hitler and the government. Notable figures included Claus von Stauffenberg, who led the failed assassination attempt in 1944, and members of the White Rose movement, which distributed anti-Nazi leaflets.
Despite their efforts, the German Resistance faced severe repression, and many members were arrested, executed, or forced into exile. The resistance was fragmented and lacked widespread support, making it difficult to mount a significant challenge to the Nazi regime.
