Snake Island
Snake Island, officially known as Isla da Queimada Grande, is a small island located off the coast of Brazil. It is famous for its large population of golden lancehead pit vipers, a highly venomous snake species that is found nowhere else in the world. The island covers about 43 hectares and is largely uninhabited, with access strictly controlled by the Brazilian government.
Due to the dangerous snake population, visiting Snake Island is prohibited for the general public. The island serves as a natural reserve, and researchers occasionally study its unique ecosystem. The presence of the snakes has made it a subject of fascination and caution in both scientific and popular contexts.
