Slovak Koruna
The Slovak Koruna was the official currency of Slovakia before the country adopted the Euro in January 2009. It was abbreviated as SKK and was subdivided into 100 halierov. The koruna was introduced in 1993, following the split of Czechoslovakia into two independent nations.
The Slovak Koruna was used for everyday transactions, including shopping and services, and featured various designs that highlighted Slovak culture and history. After the transition to the Euro, the koruna ceased to be legal tender, and the Euro became the primary currency for economic activities in Slovakia.
