Slobodan Milošević
Slobodan Milošević was a Serbian politician who served as the President of Serbia from 1989 to 1997 and later as the President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1997 to 2000. He was a key figure during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s, which followed the breakup of Yugoslavia. His leadership was marked by nationalist policies and significant political turmoil.
Milošević was charged with war crimes, including genocide, for his role in the conflicts in Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo. He was tried at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia but died in custody in 2006 before a verdict was reached.
