Radovan Karadžić
Radovan Karadžić is a former Bosnian Serb politician and leader of the Bosnian Serbs during the Bosnian War in the 1990s. He was born on June 19, 1945, in Petnjica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Karadžić played a significant role in the conflict, advocating for the establishment of a separate Serbian state within Bosnia.
In 1995, he was indicted for war crimes, including genocide, by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). After years in hiding, he was arrested in 2008 and later convicted, receiving a life sentence for his actions during the war.
