Sir Syed Ahmad Khan
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was a prominent Indian Muslim scholar, reformer, and educator born in 1817. He is best known for his efforts to promote modern education among Muslims in India during the British colonial period. He founded the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in Aligarh, which later became the Aligarh Muslim University, a significant institution for higher education.
In addition to his educational initiatives, Sir Syed was a strong advocate for social reform and scientific thinking. He emphasized the importance of rationality and modernity in the Muslim community, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic values and contemporary knowledge.
