Simple Addition
Simple addition is a basic mathematical operation that combines two or more numbers to find their total. For example, if you have 2 apples and you get 3 more apples, you can add them together: 2 + 3 = 5. This means you now have 5 apples in total.
In addition, the numbers being added are called addends, and the result is known as the sum. Simple addition is often one of the first concepts taught in mathematics and is used in everyday situations, such as counting items, managing money, or measuring distances.
