Shirokuma (Polar)
Shirokuma, or the polar bear, is a large carnivorous mammal found primarily in the Arctic regions. Known for its thick white fur and layer of fat, it is well-adapted to cold environments. Polar bears primarily hunt seals and are excellent swimmers, using their powerful limbs to navigate icy waters.
These bears are classified as marine mammals due to their dependence on sea ice for hunting and breeding. As climate change leads to melting ice, polar bears face significant threats to their habitat and food sources, making their conservation a critical issue for wildlife protection efforts.
